For its 78th Season, Harlem’s world famous Amateur Night at the Apollo partnered with London’s Hackney Empire for a transatlantic Amateur Night competition in July 2012. Five contestants each from Harlem and London performed at the Hackney Empire for the historic exchange of talent! 

The winners of the London show traveled to Harlem to perform just this past Wednesday October 3rd for the “Live at the Empire & Apollo Amateur Night: Hackney vs. Harlem.”  In this case, however, the London contestants did not come to compete, but rather to showcase their talents as guest performers on the legendary Apollo Theater stage.
